Andrew Taylor is an accomplished bassist, specializing in fretless electric and upright bass. Not limiting himself to any style, he feels comfortable playing jazz, rock, funk, blues, reggae, country, and virtually any other style of music.

Establishing himself first in Peterborough, Andrew was a member of several acts. Teaming with guitarist Rob Boshaw and drummer Chris Chiarelli, the trio were the backbone for several Peterborough bands, including The Blueshounds, The Cheryl Beatty Band, and the Eve Simmons Quartet.

After moving to Kitchener-Waterloo in 1997, Andrew met other musicians through local jam nights. Along with 4 other musicians, he co-founded The Datsun Five, a jazz combo that straddled many periods of jazz with ease. With members departing from the city, he and other members formed the Filet o Funk, a jazz-funk combo that melded the theory of jazz with phat grooves and backbeats. He also co-founded The Diplomats, a traditional jazz combo specializing in weddings and other special occasions.

In 2002, Andrew moved to the Greater Toronto Area, where he was a member of blues group Redbird. Since that time, Andrew has co-founded/joined several other acts, including The Jukes, The Brewski Boys, and Bonny Morgan and the Players Club. He has maintained his membership in The Diplomats and Filet o Funk, as well as resurrecting the Cheryl Beatty Band with the band's original line-up.

Festivals Andrew has appeared in (or is scheduled to appear in) include the Downtown Toronto Jazz Festival, the Oshawa Jazz and Blues Festival, Iridescent Music's Spring Fest, the Orillia Jazz Festival, the Waterloo Region Songwriterfest, the Kawartha Jazz Festival, SpringRise, and the Celebrate Toronto Streetfest. He has also performed at various university festivals, including the University of Waterloo's Gradstock and Trent University's Dionysus.
